Time For The Next Tarot Check-in? Julying!

If you’ve read my previous post, you already know that July was a big month for me. Big. Huge. I finally published a book and got my first real taste of the world of self-publishing. I love it! But now I’m really curious to see if and how this major life event, this accomplishment of a lifelong goal, if reflected in the birthday tarot reading I did at the beginning of the year. Let’s not waste any more time!

Now, let’s remind ourselves of what that prediction was:

July: II of Coins: Another card that mentions to coming together of opposites. There is also mention of a difficult situation, extra responsibilities, an unusual turn of events, and too much (or too little) of a good thing.

And how accurate was it?

Very.

Let’s break this down. Nothing comes to mind when I think of the coming together of opposites, unless you count the fact that I spent time with some extroverted friends. But that’s probably the only part of the prediction that wasn’t completely accurate. A difficult situation? The Amazon Issue. I am still listed as “pending” to publish on Amazon, even though my book is already available at all the other big eBook retailers. It makes me want to scream. Extra responsibilities? You bet! I have to keep up with my transcription work to help fund further publications, but now I’m also putting in the work to turn self-publishing into a career. An unusual turn of events? My dad and I have been working on mending our relationship over the past few months and when my book came out, not only did he reach out to congratulate me, but he bought a copy! And too much of a good thing? Absolutely. I’ve allowed my new career to consume me to the point where I’m starting to stress about all of the things I have to do over the next few weeks, and I’m spending more time on writing and marketing instead of transcription (the thing that’s actually making me money right now). Needless to say, since all of these things happened near the end of July, August is off to a chaotic start. Wish me luck for the month ahead!
