Another Month Gone By Already?! Time For The Next Tarot Check-In

If I’m being perfectly honest, August went by in a blur. And I know we all say things like “Wow, it’s ___ already? Where did the time go?” but this time I truly mean it. I published Please Rate Your Satisfaction mere days before August started, and then published The Sorting about three weeks later. The entire month of August has revolved around self-publishing. I’ve had to learn the marketing side, manage all of the setbacks, keep track of several moving parts… Oh, and I’ve still had to keep on track of my writing and my freelance work (which is still my main source of income).

And if that wasn’t enough, now that more and more people in my area are double vaccinated, and more and more places are being opened up, my social calendar has been packed. Between virtual and in person hangouts with family and friends, I don’t think I’ve ever been this social before in my entire life. But I’ve really missed seeing people, and I can’t tell you how fantastic it is to be able to hug all six of my niblings again.

So, without further ado, let’s see if my tarot reading for August was accurate. And let’s see if I can actually remember in detail all the things that happened to me this past month.

Now, let’s remind ourselves of what that prediction was:

August: VI of Chalices: This one speaks of regret, nostalgia, rethinking a situation, and considering a mixed opportunity. At the same time, there is mention of seeking support from friends, and new opportunities arising from prior efforts.

And how accurate was it?

Pretty accurate.

Let’s break this down.

I can’t recall any regret, but I sure have experienced a lot of nostalgia recently in the form of book dedications. Between PRYS and The Sorting, I’ve dedicated my work to three different people. Writing those dedications, and filming TikTok videos to talk about them, made me really think about why those people are important to me. Understandably, this brought up a lot of memories. As far as seeking support from friends, I didn’t actively seek it out, but over the month of August a number of my friends have supported me by buying my books. Also, because I can now see some of those friends in person, that provided an additional layer of support because it undoubtedly lifted my spirits to be able to see them again. And new opportunities arising from prior efforts? I’m going to assume that that also has to do with my self-publishing journey. I laid most of the groundwork for getting published in July, so in August I was able to build off of that. And the more work I put in, the more I hope to encounter even more opportunities.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me for September!
