Time “Off” For The Holidays: My December Writing Update

Let’s keep things short and sweet today. After all, I am technically “off” from work (at least, that’s what I tell myself).

Believe it or not, this workaholic has been maintaining healthy work boundaries this month. I haven’t attended any in-person events, I’ve limited my computer time on days I’ve marked as “off”, and I’m actually resting and taking care of my body. Shocking, I know.

But that doesn’t mean I haven’t gotten anything done.

I’ve been doing some behind-the-scenes planning for what will be my first in-person event of 2025: a Book Purge takeover of Studio Staja. On January 18th, I’m taking over their entire store to raise money for the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue. Keep an eye on my socials because I’m working on having more than just books available at this fundraising event.

And, most importantly, I spent the first three weeks of December binge-editing The Tunnel. Thanks to the beta reader feedback I received, I have made A LOT of edits, updates, and changes to the characters, settings, lore… EVERYTHING! I even added a new character to the book. After spending just shy of 5 years working on this novel, I’m really looking to getting it published.

But before publishing in the spring (exact date TBD), I’m slowly starting to tease the cover art! If you want an exclusive sneak peek, make sure to subscribe to my newsletter before January 9th. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait to see the full cover until the end of that month.

Once the new year comes around, I’ll be able to start shopping for a copy editor. And once my Book Purge takeover event is over, I’ll switch over to planning another book launch party. So, as per usual, keep an eye out for lots of fun and exciting updates.

Until then, Stay Spooky and have a Happy New Year!
