As of yesterday, event season has officially begun for me! I started off the morning with a Private Purge Pop-Up and raised $1,858 for the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue thanks to the generous folks at CIRA. And then I hosted my first ever Write Club at Milk Shop in the ByWard Market. I’m exhausted, I’m sore, but damn was that a great start to my busy season.
And I have so many cool events coming up over the next few months – some booked, some pending, some still being planned. But all of those events will be posted to my socials, so you will always know where to find me.
But for those who can’t come and see me in person, The World’s Best Husband (aka Mark) is currently working on website updates! That’s right – we’re bypassing the Big Bad companies to sell books and merch directly though my website. If you’re not able to make it to in-person events, or to any of the stores that carry my books on consignment, you will soon have the option to purchase books from me (signed, of course). Given all that needs to be done on the back end of my site, Mark said things will take a little longer to put together, so please be patient while we get everything set up.
With all this chaos going on, surely I haven’t had time to write? Wrong! I’ve made a little bit more progress picking away at Skull Daddy II, and I did one last mini edit on Modern Hauntings before I start shopping for editors, but my main focus this month was GOATS. I hadn’t planned on doing such thorough edits for that one this month, but the muse was with me and I couldn’t stop. Based on what I went through while writing draft 1, I expected it to be more of a mess, but I’m so pleased with how the story has developed by the end of draft 3. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I am madly in love with it.
Finally, because folks have been asking, I don’t yet have exact publication dates for my next three books, but I can at least share a rough estimate. Depending on how things go during the developmental and copy edit stages, these timeframes could change, but here’s when you can expect to read my next books:
- Modern Hauntings: Fall 2025
- GOATS: Late Winter 2025 or Early Winter 2026
- Skull Daddy II: Mother/Father: Summer 2026
