Is It September Yet? My August Writing/Working Update

Given that I keep putting this off and straight up forgetting about writing this blog post, you can tell this has been an exhausting month for me. An yet, I’ve barely done any writing.

Actually, maybe I haven’t done any writing …

Well, at the beginning of the month, I finished the final edits of Skull Daddy II so that I could get everything finalized and uploaded for publication.

And that’s it.

This month, I’ve been doing a bit of training for a new part-time job that I’ll be starting next week. But that’s not the only work that found itself on my schedule. My husband’s boss took on a lot of big contracts and was in need of some extra pairs of hands. I figured that, with a new book coming out, it wouldn’t hurt to make some extra money that I could invest into my publishing. Plus, the job site I got assigned to is one that holds both personal and professional significance. The demo/reno work was fun … until my poor disabled body decided we’d had enough. I had to go nap in Mark’s car yesterday while everyone else kept working. There may or may not have been tears.

Another factor that contributed to my exhaustion was trying to cramp everything else into whatever gaps in my day I could find: publishing, marketing, event planning (seriously, when did I become an event planner?!), and more! So, there really wasn’t any time for writing. Unless I stayed up even later but, well, there would’ve been more tears.

But September is on the horizon, along with a manageable schedule and some planned days off. Next month, I should have an actual writing update to share with you all.

Stay Spooky!
