At the time I wrote the first draft, I was dealing with a rash that spread from my cheeks to my neck. It was probably an allergic reaction to something, but I honestly can’t remember anymore. One thing I do remember … Writing about the rash definitely made it itch more.

The rash first appeared on my chin about two weeks ago. I thought it was just an allergic reaction so I popped and antihistamine, washed my face, and tried to ignore it.
Two days later, it crawled up onto my cheeks and down my neck. Little itchy bumps that caused nothing but agony. Another antihistamine, a hot shower, and bed. I wanted to avoid a visit to the doctor if possible. I can’t afford the bus fare, let alone the fancy medicated creams.
But now it’s been two weeks, and it’s everywhere. Not just on my face, but every inch of my body. Every crack and crevice. Inside and out. I can’t move. I can’t sleep. I don’t even want to eat anything. It itches and burns. I need to get rid of it.
I think I still have that old cheese grater in a drawer somewhere.
